Privacy Policy

Deepcut Labs has no server. We operate no backend, no account system and no analytics. We do not receive your data, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. This policy covers both of our applications; where they differ, they are described separately below.

What applies to both apps

Neither app contains telemetry, crash reporting, usage tracking, an advertising identifier or a third-party analytics SDK of any kind. Neither app phones home, and neither checks in with us on launch or at any other time.

Deepcut Labs collects nothing. We receive no personal information, no usage data, no file contents and no diagnostics from either app. If you contact us, we will of course have whatever you put in that message, and we use it only to reply to you.

Agent Configurator

What the app stores, and where

Everything the app creates stays on your Mac, under your control:

• Your library — rules, skills, commands, agents, context and profiles — is a folder of ordinary files. It lives in your Documents folder by default, or in your own iCloud Drive if you choose that, or in any folder you pick.
• Settings and app state live in the app's sandbox container on your Mac.
• API keys and repository access tokens are stored in your macOS Keychain. They never leave your Mac except as authentication to the service you entered them for.

What the app reads

Agent Configurator reads AI coding-agent configuration and session data already on your Mac — files such as ~/.claude, ~/.cursor and the projects you register. It reads these only from folders you explicitly grant access to through the macOS folder picker, and it reads them locally to show you your own usage, costs and configuration. That information is never transmitted anywhere.

When the app uses the network

Only when you ask it to, and only to services you have configured yourself:

• AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI) — when you use the assisted authoring features. Requests go directly from your Mac to that provider, authenticated with your own API key, and are governed by that provider's privacy policy.
• Repository and content sources (GitHub and other git hosts, Context7) — when you add a remote source and it syncs. Requests go directly to that service using credentials you supplied.

The optional Helper

Agent Configurator Helper is a separate, optional download. It enumerates running processes and open ports belonging to your own user account, and ends a process when you ask it to. It reports what it finds only to Agent Configurator on the same Mac, over a local connection that verifies both sides' code signatures. It has no network access of its own and stores nothing.

MDview

MDview is a Quick Look preview extension and a small settings app. It has no network features at all: no update check, no remote content and no outbound requests of any kind.

• What it reads — the Markdown file macOS hands it to preview, and the stylesheets you have added. Nothing else; a Quick Look extension is granted access to the previewed file alone.
• What it stores — your theme choice and your stylesheets, in a container shared between the extension and the settings app on your Mac. If you import stylesheets from a folder, they are copied from a folder you chose in the macOS folder picker.
• What it prevents — JavaScript is disabled in previews, and every navigation other than a local file is cancelled. A Markdown document cannot contact anything when you preview it, even if it contains embedded HTML that tries to.

Beta testing

While an app is distributed through TestFlight, Apple collects installation and crash information under its own terms. That is Apple's collection, not ours — see Apple's Privacy Policy. We may see aggregate tester counts and crash reports that Apple provides. If you send feedback through TestFlight, we receive what you write and any screenshot you attach.

Children

Our apps are developer tools intended for adults and are not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of either app ever collects anything, we will say so here before it ships.
